Wow...been along time!

I havent said anything in a long time. Well here it is almost 2011..WHERE did my 2010 go? My boo boo is walking and yammering up a storm! My band is FINALLY gonna have a cd release party in february, Im super happy with my band, and I feel like I wont have to work by the end of next year because its gonna be like that with the band...HEEEEY GLORY GLORY GLORY!! Pow told me these things and he would never lie to me..hehehehehehe! Oh yeah, and FINALLY A PHOTOSHOOT!!!! WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!!!?????? Absofuckinglutely! BABY ATLAS 2011...DIG IT BABY!

No facebook for a week...I thought about some stuff the other day and I was like, how about you give up everything to see what you cant live without...I have clearly been spending WAY to much time on facebook so I decided to step away from it for a week...I think Im free to say that here because no one reads this blog anyways..hahahhahaha! its like a diary cause nobody really reads it. So no facebook for a week and stuff and stuff....its pretty cool cause now I dont have to worry about, oh I wonder what such and such meant by the status or, oh, I wonder is such and such gonna say something about something about something about something about something about something...ya get it?..yeah... Liberating is what it is my friends...funny story..I was trying to text my bestie Joy Daniels who is taking over the east coast via her music as we speak...last night, I was trying to send her a quote from Pick of Destiny.."you are now our honorary *Parfuckerdymcgoodlestien*" and I accidently sent it to my mama...HA! I called her and was like...ummmm, yeah, your gonna be receiving a text shortly that wasnt meant for you..HA! CLASSIC...she giggled about it ;) she's cool like that...anydoodle..up up and away.

I havent blogged in along time! Well friends, aint shit new..if it was Im sure I would have blogged before now..HA! Album done..CHECK..photo shoot coming up..CHECK..missing home..CHECK CHECK CHECK..I realize that its just 3 hours away but Im missing out on my Boo Boo'z growing up! My first niece that Im not around 24-7 and I have to say that I dont like it AT ALL. she is getting so big!! Everyday something new! Makes me wanna have one..but I also feel like if Celion Deion with her being ON UP IN AGE having a baby that I should be just fine..need to be enjoying the sweet single life...YOU DIG!? oh I dig to the highest of high powers! Anyways..gotta continue to shake the haters off and do my mothafuckin thang..dig it..PEACE.

The Album is DONE!

We went back up to Denton Tuesday and finished off the album...actually Dave and Pow Pow went up to Denton I was already up in Weatherford for fathers day weekend. Dave killed the vocals and I put some Fender Rhodes on a track so the liner notes will read Wendy "Wendo" Simmons on Fender Bass and Fender Rhodes...OHHHHH SNAP! Oh yeah and some background vocals.. I must say that I did NOT want to put keys on it..I've never done such a thing..Im such a fucking pussy when it comes to stuff like that.. I need to cut it the fuck out and start attacking this shit..NO MERCY GOT DAMN ME! Had a gig with my Daves the other day at The Belmont and as always when I come off the stage I feel closer to those 2 knuckle heads..I cant wait until we are on the road and playing music and hanging out with awesome ass musicians and saying, wow, I knew it was gonna be like this..Baby Atlas bitches!!!!!!

man, I cant say it enough how blessed I am to be playing with two of the coldest motha-sucka's in Austin Texas and dare I say the whole damn world! D.C. will keep you locked up in the richest sweetest pockets I've ever dealt with. Playing with DJimz makes it really hard for me from time to time cause I want to listen to his bad-assness so much to the point where I stop playing just to listen..I need to cut that out..HA! Turning over a New Leaf!!

The new leaf is.......MAKE-UP. Im going to start using Maybelline make-up. Its pretty damn close to the Fashion Fair that Im using now. I noticed that the F.F. has a certain amount of red in it that blends great with my skin tone but Maybelline does the damn thang! AND its convenient for me to go to walmart/cvs/walgreens and probably target. I dont have to go to Dillards to pick up the F.F. thats $20+ But it is for black people so I might end up shutting it on up and going back to F.F. We will see...right now, Imma use Maybelline! DIG IT!

I havent posted anything since Erykah Badu info and Im still floored by the album! BAM! What to saaaay what to saaaaaaay! I really have nothing to say...and that says alot for me! Oh..I must have a damn sign on my head that says...MARRIED MEN COME MESS WITH ME. I should run away and concentrate on my music..thats what I should do! Im sitting up here watching TCM. I LOVE LOVE LOVE old movies! This movie just went off about this chick that moved away to take care of her "play cousins" daughter, the husband feel in love with her and killed his wife to be with her...they were married, he was an ass, she lost her baby which drove him more insane and he went trying to shoot up the town and they came for him and the towns people shot his dumb ass cause he was parading around with a gun...GOOD FLICK! a young Jessica Tandy and Colonel Potter from Mash! I think I might leave it on this channel..GOOD TIMES AHEAD!

Listening and Learning

Today will be a day filled with listening and learning...tunes..plenty of tunes to be listening to. One of my teachers told me that in order to shed your instrument you have to listen to music..LISTEN to music...so thats what Im doing, Im listening! I wonder how many times I can type listen whilst typing this blog? Im not sure...I was gonna meet up with Adam thursday but I think its a bad idea cause we wanted to frequent a couple of music shops to check out basses and I forgot that South By is this week...I think its a BAD BAD idea..Now is the time of the year when everybody and their mama floods Austin Texas to LISTEN to music, every band good or bad will be playing in the city..more bad then good with the exception of every band I know down here but I tell you what? Baby Atlas wants to play Eric Clapton's Crossroad Music Festival..NOT South By South Wack..YA DIG? HELL YA YOU DIG! So take that shit to the bank and deposit it and dont come back until you have enough scratch to withdraw biznitch!

What to say what to say...oh yeah...I GOT A NEW BASS! He is beautiful. His name is Willie, named after 3 Willies in my life that I love..My Papa, my Mama and Willie Weeks! YES! He is oh so wise and wonderful and crunk and he sounds O-Mazing! Thank God for Jesus! He is a great new addition to Baby Atlas ya dig?...what is Baby Atlas you ask...oh thats just the name of the most kick ass band you have ever come across...yeah..thats right..you heard fucking right from the fucking horses TOOTH! Anyways...yeah, Imma go play with him now...well, Imma finish listening to Chopin played by Vladamir Ashkenazy...beautiful..breath taken...*sigh*

Wheeeeeeew, I slept all the daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay....LONG! And it was awesome...very awesome..you know whats going to be even more awesome? When I tuck myself BACK in and go BACK to sleep...I figured I would hit this bass up for a lil bit and turn my shed light on and get down on it! I didnt really wanna say much of anything but I figured I would just say a lil something to keep this wagon train a moving. Season 3 of Dexter is down and it seems like it was left of a pretty good note..better then season 2. Cant wait to see season 4..gotta see who Dexter is murdering and see the new addition..Oscar night..to watch or not to watch...if Im just laying in the bed, might as well crank it up...HA! PEACE.

oh my goodness, I am soooooooooooo tired. drove up to weatherford yesterday and drove back to austin this morning...drive drive drive drive drive..the only good thing about today was my band rehearsed and we are fucking bad ass....simple as that..the 2 Daves fucking rock and I just had a good vibe going on and showed it through my playing..A PLUS bitches!...ya dig?...got some stuff I need to shed on..but no worries, the name of the game...ready to share the bill with Gov't Mule, Allman Brothers Band, Derek Trucks Band...yeah I said it! All those bands are tied together via bad ass guitar players..*thumbs up* google um! BAM! JUMP JUMP JUMP Nyabingi! Oh yeah, and check out all the eye shadows I have! ::::cheering::::

Tell All?

Is this blog suppose to be a tell all or is it suppose to be a tell as much as you can so that you can still cover your ass when you have to? Wow, that sounded like the introduction of a crazy ass novel waiting to be written...I'll have to file that away as things to do! Ummm, well I was in Weatherford the whole weekend and did absolutely NOTHING...and I loved it. Saw my precious baby niece who is growing oh so very much looking just like her daddy! Im going back home after I get off work 2morrow because my car is making a strange noise that scared my aunt and now Im scared...HAHHAHA! Oh well, amen for warranties! *thumbs up* Not looking forward to the drive tho but at least I can do an overnighter and get up in the morning and drive back to get to a Baby Atlas rehearsal! Ready to fucking change lives via MUSIC! Gonna get off my lazy fucking ass and starting making it a point to get some composition cranked out daily...if its a few measures a day until I cant seem to NOT write..somethings gotta change..anyways...ENOUGH.

okay okay okay...what I did today..hmmmm, laid up in my bed...slept..ummm...slept some MORE..woke up, watched a lil bit of A Haunting on discovery channel..I was kinda bummed out cause it was re-runs..no bueno! then I got a phone call from my new buddy and we talked music for a bit then I got on the keyboard and played a string piece I've had for awhile and dont know what to do with it! Then I got the urge to go get a Gorgonzola burger from 24 Diner with my music partner in crime Mr. Jimenez and then just did a righteous hang and watched reno 911...and now Im back home about to hit the sheets cause shipment is in the morning and Imma have to be well rested as I was instructed to be by goose...but she dont run my life so whatever! *mumbling under my breath* ;) anydoodles...Im out this piece like the fat kid in dodgeball..PEACE!

I can tell that its just going to be one of those days...I have to be to work in a few hours and I heard that shipment is gonna be HUGE which means yah yah yah, what fucking ever...Im there...I just want to tell everybody to fuck off...fucking fuck off...No sleep, but who needs sleep anyways, I can sleep when Im 6 feet underground...when I get off Imma come home, stretch out, pop in a movie, guzzle a few sleep aid'z and fucking hit the SHEETS YOU DIG? sleep sleep sleep the boys are maaaarching! phone? Okay...let me just rant about my weekend since its Sunday and I woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus..HA! I was having random dreams of my old church *Prince Memorial* and there was alot of drama going on..oh wow..like thats to far from the truth! Did I say that? Anyways...my aunt and uncle and 2 cousins went out of town this weekend and I was asked to watch my lil cuzzo while they were in vegas..I knew about it last month but didnt realize that it was going to be the weekend that Gov't Mule was gonna be in town..so I missed it..I was extremely pissed but oh well..one day Baby Atlas will be sharing the bill with the Mule so its ALL GOOD! YA DIG!? Found out yesterday that Baby Atlas will be hitting up the studio in late May and the first couple of days in June. Im just to excited to be in a band with to bad ass mothasucka'z! Okay..I think that just about covers my whole weekend. Gov't Mule...:*sigh* Unlce Warren..*sigh* Im a Ram..*sigh*
